Ration Card rules- The Government of India runs many schemes for the people of the country. Crores of people of the country are taking advantage of these government schemes. Under the National Food Security Act of the Government of India, people get the benefit of free and low-cost ration facility. The government also issues ration cards for this. Ration is available from the depot by showing the ration card.
More than 80 crore people in the country are availing the facility of low-cost and free ration under the National Food Security Act. But now after January 1, the rules are going to change for ration card holders.
Who Will No Longer Get Free Ration?

Families not listed in BPL (Below Poverty Line) or APL (Above Poverty Line) with higher income.

Those not updating their Family ID or income details in government records.

People who are government employees or income taxpayers.

Ration card holders who have not completed e-KYC or Aadhaar linking.

If duplicate ration cards are found in a household.
What Are the New Rules?

Mandatory e-KYC and Aadhaar link with ration cards.

Annual income proof verification is required.

Ration cards may be cancelled or deactivated if information is found incorrect.

New ration cards will be issued only to eligible BPL families after verification.
