Mera Ration 2.0 Portal: The Government of India has announced revolutionary changes in the ration card system, which will come into effect from January 1, 2025. Under this new rule, the need for a physical copy of the ration card will be eliminated. Beneficiaries will now be able to get their ration without a ration card, just by using Aadhaar or biometric identification. This step has been taken to make the Public Distribution System (PDS) more efficient, transparent and user-friendly.
Another important aspect of this new scheme is that eligible beneficiaries will be given additional financial assistance of ₹1000 every month. मुख्य विशेषताएं
Digital Ration Card. Digital ration card will be used in place of physical ration card. Beneficiaries will be able to get digital ration card through the app.
Aadhaar-linked verification. Beneficiaries will be identified by Aadhaar number or biometric data (fingerprint/iris).. This process will be implemented to prevent fake beneficiaries.
e-KYC mandatory
